Park and Ride

Our Park and Ride service for Aberdeen Airport is located just 2 miles from the airport. Simply drive yourself to the Aberdeen Airpark car park, check in, load your luggage on to the courtesy transfer bus, then sit back and relax while you are driven the short distance to the airport terminal. Airport transfer time takes only 5 minutes.

On your return, the courtesy bus will be waiting to take you back to your car. If the weather has been cold, your car will have been demisted, defrosted, cleared of snow and checked for flat batteries.

Check-in is located to the left as you enter the terminal. As a general rule, check in at least 2 hours prior to the scheduled departure time of an international flight and at least 1½ hours prior to the scheduled departure of UK and Ireland flights.

Leisure and family facilities

Baby changing

Aberdeen Airport has plenty of baby changing facilities located throughout the terminal. Before security, you will find these adjacent to Rolling Luggage or the Granite City Bar. After security, baby changing facilities are located near Gate 5, between Gates 11 and 12 and next to the accessible toilet in the upper Departure Lounge – just past the Servisair lounge.


It is not a problem to take your pushchair through security. However, please be ready to remove your baby for a few minutes while the pushchair is put through the screening x-ray.

Baby milk

It is now possible to take more than the standard 100ml of baby food through security, provided that this is for the sole purpose of your journey.

If you want to restock after security, Boots have a range of baby essentials including milk, nappies and wipes.

Play areas

Aberdeen Airport has several ways to entertain your children. Activity panels are located next to Gate 1, while at Gate 10, you will find a selection of toys.

Information desk

Aberdeen Airport’s information desk is located in the main terminal concourse; opposite the baggage reclaim area for domestic flights. Here, you will find an interactive pod providing information on everything you might need to know: onward travel, transport links, traffic updates, airport and tourist information. If you can’t find what you are looking for, the pod is also equipped with internal and external telephones for obtaining further help and support.


Aberdeen airport has a number of retail outlets supplying travel essentials. Before security, you will find a Travelex for your foreign currency needs as well as a Rolling Luggage and WHSmith. After security, shops include Boots, Dixons Travel and, of course, World Duty Free for tax-free cosmetics, liquors, tobacco, sunglasses and accessories. Within World Duty Free, there is a World of Whiskies. They run a pre-order service, meaning that your selected whisky can be ready and waiting for you to collect at the airport. Finally, you can also enjoy gazing at original Scottish paintings and drawings at Art of Aberdeen - Aberdeen Airport’s art gallery, also located after security.

Food & drink

Most cafes and restaurants at Aberdeen Airport are family friendly, providing children’s menus and high chair facilities. Before security, choices include The Kitchen (offering classic comfort food) or The Granite City Bar by Weatherspoon which boasts a Scottish-style menu and a beautiful beer garden. After Security, you will find The Globe – a friendly bar with an excellent menu offering choices from breakfast to dinner. The Globe is open from 4.45 till the last departing flight.

Alternatively, you could consider booking into the Servisair lounge to enjoy their complimentary drinks and snacks away from the airport crowds.

Business facilities

Business lounge

Aberdeen Airport’s Servisair lounge offers an environment for working or relaxing away from the airport crowds. For up to three hours before your flight, you can take advantage of complimentary alcoholic drinks, teas, coffee and snacks as well as browsing the selection of newspapers and magazines. Credit card phone and fax facilities, as well as Wi-Fi, are also available, though at an extra charge.

Passengers travelling with British Airways who are Executive Club Members or travelling on a fully flexible ticket and Eastern Airways passengers are also entitled access to these airline-specific lounges. Check on the airline website for details.

Getting online and staying connected

Aberdeen Airport is able to offer free high-speed wireless internet access across the terminal. Simply connect to BT Openzone from your device and select 'Access Free Wi-Fi'.

Internet terminals, operated by Spectrum Interactive Ltd., are also available. You will find these before security inside Costa and beside domestic baggage reclaim or at Gates 1 & 5 after security. If you require printing facilities, you will find these at the internet terminals located in Costa before security.

Payment for internet terminals can be made by credit card, voucher or coins while printing payment can only be made by credit card. Printing carries a minimum charge of £3 for the first 3 pages + £1 per page thereafter.

Special assistance

If you require special assistance when travelling through Aberdeen Airport, you should inform your airline, travel agent or tour operator. Make sure that you do this at least 48 hours before your scheduled day of departure, and specify whether you will require, or be bringing your own, mobility aid (i.e. wheelchair, scooter etc.)

Special Assistance is provided through G4S. They are able to provide appropriate mobility assistance from your arrival at Aberdeen Airport right to the seat on the aircraft. If arriving at Aberdeen, the service is available from the seat on the aircraft right through to your onward mode of transport.

A special assistance desk is located immediately as you enter the main terminal ahead of the front door. If there is no member of staff at the desk, you can use the phone to call for assistance. The help point has reserved seating and space for wheelchair users as well as low-level flight information screens.
